ADHD Assessment

ADHD Assessment

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects both children and adults alike.

ADHD is characterised by persistent patterns of hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsivity that can interfere with daily functioning or development.   While many individuals are diagnosed during childhood, others may not receive a diagnosis until adulthood, often after struggling with the symptoms for years.

Late diagnosis is particularly common in women who are often able to mask their difficulties during childhood to fit with neurotypical peers. The demands of masking can lead to mental breakdown and exhaustion in later life.

An ADHD assessment is a comprehensive evaluation conducted by qualified health professionals at GHC and our partners Reset Health group, which will help determine whether an individual meets the criteria for formal diagnosis of ADHD.   The Gold Standard for Adult ADHD diagnostic assessment according to AQAS 2023 includes gathering information from a variety of sources, such as people who know you as an adult and people who knew you as a child, Quantative Behavioural testing, talking through your developmental history. And a detailed explorative interview of your own experiences and difficulties from childhood to adult.

At least two appointments will be required for assessment, with a further appointment made for feedback, followed by a supplementary appointment with a psychologist for advise on how to move forward with your life.

This full ADHD Assessment package, including a detailed diagnostic report costs £900. The report can be shared with your GP and can help you evidence your difficulties, to allow reasonable adjustments to be made at work or in your personal life.
